teach

I teach classes on web design, research methods, and user experience in the Digital Humanities and Technology minor at BYU. I also mentor the students on the interdisciplinary UX Team in the Office of Digital Humanities. (Students on the team are from fields such as design, information systems, sociology, psychology, and English.)

My pedagogical approach is significantly driven by the concepts of kairos (timeliness) and poiesis (experience). That is, I strive to keep my courses and assignments current by pushing students to work in the moment, taking advantage of the most opportune technologies, research, and experience.

Please visit my teaching portfolio for more on my philosophy of teaching as well as a listing of courses taught, sample syllabi, and awards.
